PARENT
TEACHER ORGANIZATION (PTO)
Welcome
to the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) of
the American School of Bangkok. The PTO is an
organization of parents, teachers, and the administration
set up to create a constructive, supportive,
and caring educational environment for the students
and the ASB Community.
The goals
of the PTO are:
- To foster
a closer relationship between home and school
so that parents may cooperate with the school
in the education of their children
- To create
good understanding amongst parents, teachers
and students
- To facilitate
and organize social, education, and fund-raising
activities
- To acquaint
parents with the goals of the school
- To create
in parents, teachers and students the consciousness
of belonging to the school, and actively involve
them in enabling the school to grow in size
and excellence
- To welcome
and help new teachers into Bangkok
 The
PTO of the American School of Bangkok is an
active body that participates in varieties of
school events such as Halloween, Sports Day,
Loy Krathong and the Sukhumvit Fair. The organization
holds regular meetings to discuss issues pertaining
to educational developments.
Membership
- All
ASB parents and teachers are members o
 f the
PTO
- Parents'
eligibility shall cease at the end of the
session during which their child leaves school
- The
Executive Committee has the right to accept
or deny a person membership in the PTO
Officers
The
officers of PTO are the President, Vice President,
Secretary, Treasurer and Teacher Representative,
which are known as the Executive Committee.
Elections are held annually by ballot in May.
For parents
who are not comfortable in the English language,
translation is available in Chinese, Japanese,
and Korean. |
