Thai unit of currency is called "Baht". One baht is divided into 100 satang. One baht is approximately less than 4 U.S. Cents. (A $ is estimated around 40 baht.)

Thai Baht which are available in the following denominations; 20 Baht, 50 Baht, 100 Baht, 500 Baht, and 1000 Baht. Coins denominations are 25 Satang coin, 50 Satang coin, 1 Baht coin, 5 Baht coin, and 10 Baht coin.

An account can be opened in a local bank, and the money can be withdrawn via almost any one of the numerous ATM machines in Bangkok.

All major banking networks are supported including Diners Club, Visa, AmEx, and MasterCard. Most debit cards function here also.
It is possible to exchange Thai Baht into American dollars and send back home.
