ASB STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN THE "YOUNG VOICES FOR CHANGE" UNITED NATIONS YOUTH FORUM

On Monday, September 12th 2005, a group of ASB students participated in the "Young Voices for Change" United Nations Youth Forum at the United Nations Conference Centre Bangkok.

Organized by the UNIS Bangkok and World Youth Peace Summit, the "Young Voices for Change" forum is a lead up to the 2005 World Summit where world leaders will discuss issues raised in the UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan's report 'In Larger Freedom'. The program featured panel discussions by young people and experts on the report's four main sections: freedom from want, freedom from fear, freedom to live in dignity, and strengthening the United Nations.

Our ASB Concert Choir students presented their choral singing abilities at the opening ceremony. A group of our high school students observed the conference, discussed and debated on many issues pertaining to our present times.

The forum provided an excellent opportunity for ASB students to meet with students from other international schools and Thai universities, and share their ideas on how to work on UN issues in their communities.
