The
American School of Bangkok's annual fun
fair - "SUKHUMVIT FAIR 2002" was held
on Saturday 23rd February, 2002 from 3:00
p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Sukhumvit Campus.
The Sukhumvit Fair 2002 is a yearly event
aimed at celebrating cultural diversity
and promoting international understanding
in the community.
The
event was marked by extravagance. There
were international and cultural performances
by students of both campuses, an astonishing
costume parade, a wide variety of international
cuisine, fun games, and fabulous prizes.
Other surprises and items of interests
to keep everyone entertained included
cartoon characters, magic shows, the man
on the stilts, and many more. The live
band played throughout the evening and
was an ideal setting for families to relax
and enjoy a pleasant evening.
Attended by more than 2000 patrons, expatriates,
parents, and students, the Sukhumvit Fair
2002 was a revelation of sorts- an announcement
that ASB has come of age, and is here
to stay. The entire community was made
part of the school's fair, and the result
was there for everyone to see - the high
number of visitors, and their enthusiastic
participation in the various events and
games.
ASB would like to express heartfelt thanks
to all patrons, sponsors, parents, students,
faculty, staff, and all those who participated
in the fair. Your contribution will go
a long way in helping the American School
of Bangkok's goals of providing quality
education and upholding the school's philosophy
of promoting cohesiveness in international
communities. Warmest gratitude also goes
to all our special visitors. Thank you
for coming to the fair and for making
this event a marvelous and a memorable
one, and most of all -- for being part
of the ASB community.
