A MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR

Dear Students, Faculty, Guests of Honor and Parents,

We gather here today to express joy and happiness, and to celebrate with loved ones the accomplishments and achievements of The Graduating Class of 2002.

I look into the crowd today and see faces with smiles on them. I see faces with tears in their eyes. I see proud parents and relatives gathered here to recognize the loved ones dear to their hearts, and to show these loved ones their appreciation for the hard work and dedication.

I want to begin by thanking each and every one of you here today-parents and teachers alike-- for the support and guidance you have given to this group throughout their educational journey. It is a rough road to travel with many detours and potholes along the way, and without the direction of all of you here today, the class would have been lost on that journey, instead of being here, just moments from walking away with their diplomas.

Education is a journey. It's a trip that starts in preschool, when young children set sail into a world of learning, which they will never leave. From grade school to middle school, and from middle school to high school, they have traveled this path, and with determination and perseverance, they have come to an intersection in their journey. For some, today is a day of completion. It is a day to end their formal education and spread their wings to travel into the world ahead of them. For others, it's an opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments, but then, take the road that leads to more education, the road to college, then perhaps graduate school. Whatever road or path you take, you must remember that your journey through education will never be complete. No matter what occupation or career that you choose, you will constantly be learning new things in the world around you.

The Graduating Class of 2002- It's a remarkable day for all of you. It marks both a culmination and a commencement. It is a culmination of all the struggles and successes, hardships and happiness that you've found throughout your school career. Today is also a commencement of a new beginning. It is a chance for you to spread your wings, and use the knowledge you have acquired, along with confidence and courage you have attained, to get out into your communities and make a difference. You are not just nameless faces walking through the halls, but you are distinguished individuals who are loved and respected by classmates and faculty alike. Your teachers not only educate and encourage you, but they also mentor and believe in you. You are no longer clothed in insecurity, but now you wear cloaks of confidence. You no longer walk with uneasy tremble, but have relaxed into a stride of satisfaction. You no longer see the cups of mere hopes and fears; but you now know that dreams can, and will be realized.

I strongly believe that all of you will be successful, and will use the tools that have been given to you, to continue your educational journey and travels into life. You are so capable of accomplishing great things in life, if you set your mind to it, and chase the dreams that you have. I encourage you to seize the moment and to live life to its fullest. Remember, life is merely a collection of experiences. Let every experience be one that you learn from. "Aim for the moon and even if you miss it, you will land among the stars." I wish you a road with few bumps, lots of love along the ways, and no serious mountains to overcome.

Good Luck and God Bless You!

Mrs. Lakhana Tavedikul,

Director
