SUKHUMVIT
FAIR 2004 FOR UNICEF CHARITABLE PROGRAMS IN
THAILAND (Recap)
The American
School of Bangkok's annual fun fair - "SUKHUMVIT
FAIR 2004" was held on Saturday, January
17th, 2004 from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the
Sukhumvit Campus.
The Sukhumvit
Fair 2004 is a yearly event aimed at celebrating
cultural diversity and promoting international
understanding in the community.
The event
was marked by extravagance. There were international
and cultural performances by students of both
campuses, an astonishing "Goes 70's) themed
costume contest,, a wide variety of international
cuisine, fun games, and fabulous prizes. Other
surprises and items of interests to keep everyone
entertained included live music, cartoon characters,
the man on the stilts, and a fashion show by
a well-known international design school.
Attended
by more than 5,000 patrons, expatriates, parents,
and students, the Sukhumvit Fair 2004 was once
again a revelation of sorts- an announcement
that the fair has come of age, and is here to
stay. The entire community was made part of
the school's fair, and the result was there
for everyone to see - the high number of visitors,
and their enthusiastic participation in the
various events and games.
The net
proceeds from the fair will be presented to
UNICEF for their charitable programs in Thailand.
